I know that these expectations are higher than in the case of other productions. There were no motives here that would be worth mentioning years later. Good RPG has a storyline, so it is a determinant of the quality of representatives of this genre. We get similarly excited when Scorsese and DiCaprio make a new movie, or when Vince Gilligan takes on another series. The name of Brian Fargo, although somewhat forgotten, is still a harbinger of something extraordinary. Don’t get me wrong, it has its moments and twists, but something was missing. Unfortunately, the main storyline is a bit disappointing and if I were to judge the whole game through the prism of the story, it would be very average. ![]() I was counting on a strong story that did not skimp on emotions, because we were used to it by games, movies and books in a / postapo / climate. During the task, which is the final test for our charges, the seemingly trivial death of one of the guards named Ace leads to a large-scale plot. Our soldiers are the recruits of the Desert Rangers, a group formed by nuclear war survivors who help people in need. Now, many hours later, I have realized that this choice is not that important as the team can be expanded to suit your preferences without having to stick to the proposed class pattern. I started from the beginning three times to decide which composition was the optimal one after the first big mission. Creating a team is reading tea leaves, because only losing a few hours will make us verify our choices. It’s a cliché, but if you haven’t played these “good, because old” games, you will either click without thinking about the line-up proposed by the developers or you will get stuck in the creator for several dozen minutes. ![]() Right after starting the game, we form a team of four. Remember wandering the wastelands when Fallout didn’t offer an FPS view yet? Do you remember the euphoria when the shot converted by the virtual dice hit the opponent in the head?
